A conventional plot in other words - predictable, but one that works, it’s a winning formula...
With the City of Angels as the back drop, this film is filled with ridiculously flawed heist that relies on coincidence and luck more often than not, high speed chases, shoot-outs with Police, brotherhood or gangs, whichever way you’d prefer to describe them but we know ‘Big Nick’ (Gerard Butler) was eager to identify his crew and himself as a gang member with the blessing of a badge…some dark humour for us. *sarcastically* Yay!
The cast were almost all A-listers with Curtis Jackson (better known as 50 Cent), O’Shea Jackson, Gerard Butler (who’s eating scenes are always a joy to observe) and a special mention to Paulo Schreiber, who was able to fit very well into his character and put in a reliable performance as a former marine, criminal boss.
The production, sounds and overall cinematography had no faults, minus a few prop and costume designs however I will let you figure those out for yourself as this was a solid film that would be recommended. It certainly will keep you off the edge of your seat for the climax and a few clever twists and turns from the script writer (Christian Gudegast).
